Riverside is an overdrive developed from the analysis of numerous analog and vacuum tube circuits. It covers a wide gain range and is designed for rich harmonic content and a tone reminiscent of tube drive.
A hybrid drive layering analog and DSP
An overdrive born from analyzing a vast number of analog and tube circuits. An ultra-low-noise Class A JFET analog multistage gain circuit provides up to 20dB of gain, and a SHARC DSP downstream tracks your dynamics to generate complex harmonics.
Cascading gain stages
The analog input stage conveys the player's touch and guitar volume like a direct connection to a tube amp, while the DSP stage layers on harmonically rich distortion. The low-gain channel handles smooth classic overdrive; the high-gain channel covers modern, saturated distortion.
Sweet spots across the entire gain range
Numerous internal parameters adjust continuously in response to input dynamics, so the tone never falls apart at any position of the Drive knob. One unit covers clean, mid drive, high-gain leads, and heavy distortion.
Voicing to match your amp
A 3-band EQ with Bass, Middle, and Treble tailors the match to your amp, and a 3-position presence switch on the rear panel corrects the top end. It also handles line connections and direct connection to a power amp.
Boost and favorites
A boost that raises output by up to +6dB can be operated from an external switch. The FAVORITE switch saves and recalls a preferred setting, and firmware 1.2 and later adds MIDI control via the EXP jack and 300 presets.
