A 100% analog pedal with a character distinct from typical overdrives and distortions. Designed as a miniature amplifier, it is based on a little-known 1960s device used on numerous classic rock recordings. It is a unit for getting amp-like gain sounds at your feet.
A miniature tube amp built 100% analog
The first release in the all-analog Series A, inspired by the Garnet Amplifiers Herzog tube drive unit designed for Randy Bachman in 1965. It consists of a miniaturized tube preamp, a Class A power amp, and a custom circuit emulating the saturation characteristics of an output transformer.
Recreating the full behavior of a tube amp
A proprietary analog circuit emulates the saturation behavior of a tube amp's output transformer, adding tube-like harmonics and saturation. A transformer-based power section internally boosts 9VDC to 40V, supporting amp-like headroom and feel.
Variable sag control
Just like a real tube amp, it dynamically varies the current supplied to the preamp and power amp sections according to signal level and playing intensity. Low settings respond gently like a rectifier, while the maximum setting collapses the bias for a spitting sound reminiscent of a gated fuzz.
A wide gain range
At low gain it adds harmonics while gently pushing the amp; at high gain it shifts into an edgy, compressed sound. A bright switch changes the high-end contour, fitting both clean and dirty amps.
