DECO(Gen1)
The original DECO, packing tape-machine effects into a single unit. TAPE SATURATION covers everything from the clean compression of driving a tape deck's input to natural overdrive. DOUBLETRACKER recreates in stereo the three effects made with two tape machines: tape flanging, doubletrack chorus, and slapback echo.
The original DECO, commanding two tape decks
The original model, condensing the techniques the pioneers of modern recording created with tape machines into two effects: tape saturation and the doubletracker.
Tape saturation
It recreates the texture of driving a tape deck's input level, covering everything from clean compression to a transparent overdrive that pushes past tape's limits. The ideal use is leaving it always on at the end of the effects chain.
Doubletracker
The Lag Time control sweeps through tape flanging, doubletrack chorus, and slapback tape echo, all born from the time offset between two tape machines. Wobble recreates the random fluctuations of the tape-speed manipulation engineers performed.
Secondary functions
Each knob is assigned a secondary function, including high-shelf filter frequency adjustment, stereo image control, and effect volume boost or cut. The input signal is never AD-converted, staying in an analog mix, with +4dB line-level input also supported.
- Two effects: tape saturation and doubletracker
- Flanger, chorus, and echo swept by Lag Time
- Wobble recreating tape-speed fluctuations
- Analog mix circuit that bypasses AD conversion
- FAVORITE preset via an optional footswitch
- Real-time expression pedal control
