The second-generation DECO, a pedal version of the effects of the open-reel tape machines used in 1950s and 60s studios. Tape saturation and the doubletracker are controlled by independent footswitches. It carries a 520MHz ARM processor and 24-bit 96kHz AD/DA, with 300 preset slots, MIDI, USB-C, and a TRS expression input.
The second generation of tape effects, heir to open-reel magic
It condenses into a compact enclosure the sounds engineers drew from tape machines in 1950s and 60s recording studios. The two sections, tape saturation and doubletracker, are controlled by independent footswitches.
Tape saturation
Smooth tape compression and saturation add a warm texture to the sound, and turning it up shifts into a transparent overdrive like overloading a tape machine's input stage. The second generation adds a dedicated tone knob, adjusting the saturation's color from dark to bright.
classic and cassette voice switch
classic recreates the response and saturation of a two-track mastering tape machine. cassette recreates a high-performance cassette deck with auto level control, characterized by fat, compressed tones.
Doubletracker
Using the time offset between a reference deck and a lag deck, the Lag Time knob sweeps through tape flanging, doubletrack chorus, slapback echo, and echoes up to 500ms. Wobble recreates random tape-speed fluctuations, and the SUM, INVERT, and BOUNCE blend types change phase and routing as well.
Auto-flange
Holding the DOUBLETRACKER footswitch delivers through-zero flanging, a studio technique of the analog era. Release the footswitch and it instantly returns to the previous settings.
