PURPLE PLEXIFIER 4K
$154.99Reference price
An amp-in-a-box pedal voiced after the British "plexi" amps built up to around 1969. It adds a MID knob to the original Purple Plexifier for a four-knob layout that shapes the tone around the midrange. It delivers a thick, compressed tone while preserving response, covering hot-rodded plexi sounds and the "brown" sound territory.
An AIAB covering plexi-amp territory from clean to high gain
An amp-in-a-box pedal voiced after the British plexi amps built up to around 1969. Adding a MID knob to the original Purple Plexifier for a four-knob layout, it covers hot-rodded plexi sounds through to brown-sound territory.
Response that behaves like amp distortion
Even at full gain, it distorts harder when you dig in and cleans up when you play softly. Designed around amp-like response and the balance between clean and drive, it lets you move between levels of distortion using only the guitar's controls.
Tone shaping anchored in the low end
It has no three-band equalizer, instead using the guitar's natural low end as the foundation of the sound. Start by setting the direction with the MID knob: counterclockwise for a tight, mid-scooped tone, clockwise for a warm, mid-forward tone. TREBLE handles the balance around 2kHz, and its effect changes with the MID setting.
Usable tone across the gain range
From clean and crunch through overdrive to high gain, the tone can be balanced at any gain setting. Its high responsiveness also makes it effective in combination with fuzz, other drive pedals, and a wide range of guitars.
