The Blue Bee OD 4K Mini recreates, in a mini-sized enclosure, the higher-gain version of the Silver Bee OD, itself derived from BJFE's signature overdrive Honey Bee OD. BJF himself designed it with attention to SMD parts and the influence of ghost components that never appear on a schematic, achieving a faithful reproduction of the original tone. The voice recalls an American combo amp with added harmonics and drive, and the T and B two-band EQ allows wide-ranging adjustment.
The higher-gain Silver Bee OD recreated in mini size
A mini-sized recreation of the higher-gain version of the Silver Bee OD, a derivative of BJFE's signature overdrive Honey Bee OD. Because ghost components that never appear on a schematic alter the sound in SMD construction, BJF himself designed the pedal with those effects in mind, arriving at a faithful reproduction of the original tone.
A tone nudged slightly modern
The flat low end and taut top end reminiscent of an American combo amp remain, now joined by added harmonic content and slightly stronger drive. Even when driven hard it keeps the guitar's inherent transparency, and the tone adds thickness to the sharpness and momentum of cutting work.
Two-band EQ
The T knob governs brightness, highs, and harmonic content, and can shape metallic-sounding drive tones. The B knob centers on the low mids, matching the tone to the character of the amp and guitar. Both knobs respond smoothly, making the balance easy to fine-tune.
