HOOKER'S GREEN BASS MACHINE 4K
$154.99Reference price
An overdrive pedal for bass. It was designed to deliver the tone and feel of bass tube amps and old transistor amps typified by vintage SUNN units when paired with a modern bass transistor amp. With a dynamic range wide enough to rival a tube amp, it follows the expression in your fingertips. The compact enclosure fits easily onto a pedalboard.
An overdrive that makes a modern amp sound like a classic bass amp
Where bass overdrives tend to grow into feature-heavy preamp extensions, this pedal focuses purely on tone and feel in a compact enclosure. It was designed to produce the sound of bass tube amps and old transistor amps typified by vintage SUNN units when combined with the modern bass transistor amps found in venues and studios.
Dynamics that follow your playing
It offers a dynamic range wide enough to rival a bass tube amp and moves smoothly through the middle ground between clean and overdriven. Pushed hard, it takes on the stable compression of an old transistor amp. It tracks the character of each technique, from fingerstyle touch to the drive of a pick and the thumping and plucking of slap.
Controls built around the amp's EQ
On the assumption that the amp's powerful EQ handles the core tone shaping, the TREBLE knob deliberately has a narrow range and is reserved for fine adjustments the amp cannot reach. The LOW BOOST knob lifts the low end further for heavy material on extended-range basses.
A design with no blend knob
Its dynamic amplifier circuit handles the full bass signal, so the sound never loses its core even when driven, which is why there is no knob for blending in the dry signal. That trade-off also helped shrink the enclosure. It can run straight into a mixing board for line use or serve as a guitar overdrive.
