A tube booster/overdrive that fits an ultra-compact, high-reliability vacuum tube into the compact 9-Series enclosure. According to Maxon's own research as of January 2008, it was the world's smallest tube booster/overdrive. A real tube circuit produces everything from natural boost that preserves the guitar and amp character to singing overdrive with a distinctive midrange. It does not run on batteries and requires the included AC adapter.

Tube-circuit sound
An ultra-compact military-grade vacuum tube sits inside the compact enclosure. It covers everything from natural boost that preserves the guitar and amp character to singing overdrive with a distinctive midrange.
Internal step-up to 30V
The 9V from the AC adapter is stepped up internally to 30V and fed to the tube and overdrive circuits. The generous dynamic headroom suppresses unintended distortion for a consistently stable sound.
Tube protection and power
A heater inrush current control circuit extends tube life at power-on. The included AC adapter supports 100-240V AC worldwide; the pedal does not run on batteries.
