Maxon
OOD9 Organic Overdrive
$169Reference price
A two-knob overdrive carrying on the lineage of the OD880, Maxon's first overdrive. Its post-integration circuit produces a warm, articulate tube-style drive that changes smoothly with input level. The drive circuit is a passive type distinct from the OD808/OD9 family and uses JRC NJM4558D op amps. It is well suited to booster-style use in front of a tube amp.
An overdrive in the OD880 lineage with the most natural tone
Like the OSD9, this model follows the OD880 line, replacing the op amp with the current-production JRC NJM4558D. A two-knob overdrive built around natural tone.
Post-integration circuit
The drive circuit is a passive type distinct from the OD808/OD9 family. The sound created by the post-integration circuit shifts smoothly with input level, yielding a warm, articulate overdrive.
Regulated power and true bypass
A built-in DC/DC converter runs the circuit at a regulated 9V DC on either battery or AC adapter power. Bypass is true bypass via a 4PDT mechanical switch, and the signal avoids switching circuitry even when the effect is on.
- Two-knob control in the OD880 lineage
- JRC NJM4558D op amps
- Passive-type drive circuit distinct from the OD808/OD9 family
