A two-circuit drive that blends overdrive and distortion
A drive pedal carrying two independent gain circuits, supporting both individual use and parallel blending. Mixing with the COLOR knob produces sounds anywhere between the two characters.
Two gain circuits with distinct personalities
The overdrive descends directly from the OD-1, the first compact pedal of 1977, with an asymmetric clipping circuit that yields tube-amp-like distortion and response. Its rich midrange and wide adjustment range suit both solos and rhythm work. The distortion is tuned thick and wild with punchy lows, suited to aggressive solos and hard-strummed chords.
Blending through parallel connection
The two circuits are connected in parallel internally, enabling a mix that preserves both characters in a way series connection cannot. Blending distortion into the overdrive adds tight low end, while blending the other way adds rich midrange to the raw distortion for greater presence.
Controls built around the COLOR knob
Turning the COLOR knob toward OD raises the overdrive's share, and toward DS the distortion's. It is tuned with the volume changes and phase effects of mixing in mind, and tone shaping stays simple alongside the LEVEL, TONE, and DRIVE controls.
