The Blues Driver name comes from the expressive dynamics of blues music. The model evolves the overdrive circuit from an amp-design perspective, aiming for tube-amp-like drive sounds and expressive control from the guitar.
Multi-stage clipping and discrete circuitry
It adopts the multi-stage clipping design used in tube amps and builds it with discrete components, keeping noise low while producing everything from crunch to drive sounds. The TONE knob is a passive circuit that adjusts harmonic content, making it easy to match the instrument.
From crunch to booster
Chord strokes and arpeggios come out as clear, well-defined crunch, and raising the GAIN adds compression for a playing feel closer to a tube amp. With GAIN low and LEVEL high, it also works as a full-range booster pushing a high-gain amp.
Response to picking and volume
Hard picking produces dynamic, biting tones, while soft picking generates delicate harmonics. Even with the GAIN up, rolling back the guitar's volume returns the sound to a light clean, letting you control the depth of the drive entirely from your hands.
