BOSS
BB-1X
A drive pedal that handles the fundamental tone shaping of a bass, much like a preamp. BOSS's proprietary MDP technology analyzes the bass signal from multiple angles, delivering wide-range, natural drive together with a solid low end. The direct and effect sounds are adjusted with a dual-axis BLEND knob, and alongside the OUTPUT for a bass amp it provides a LINE OUT jack for balanced connection to a PA.
Drive pedal that builds the core of your tone while keeping the bass's character
Rather than a solo distortion, it was designed to shape the foundation of the bass sound, much like a preamp or DI. It amplifies the best parts of your playing nuance without compromising the character of the bass or the amp.
Natural drive through MDP
Conventional bass pedals tended to narrow the frequency range while adding thickness, losing low end and dynamics as the distortion deepened. The BB-1X uses BOSS's proprietary MDP technology to analyze the bass signal from multiple angles and process it in a way that reflects the instrument's character and playing technique, achieving highly detailed drive sounds with a solid low end.
Tone design that keeps the core of the sound
Combining the HIGH and LOW tone knobs with a dual-axis BLEND knob for direct and effect sounds allows wide-ranging tonal adjustment despite the simple control layout. A thick, punchy core remains at the center of any setting.
LINE OUT tuned specifically for line output
On stage, the bass signal is commonly split with a DI and sent to both the amp and the PA. The BB-1X provides a LINE OUT jack for direct balanced connection to a PA, with its tone adjusted for line output through collaboration between bassists and PA engineers. The design accounts for the difference between the sound heard from the amp and the sound that reaches the audience.
