It introduces ZOOM's newly developed Multi-Layer IR, dynamically blending impulse responses captured at LOUD, MEDIUM, and SOFT volumes according to picking strength. One unit reproduces how a real cabinet changes character with volume, from delicate low-level shimmer to full-throated roar.
22 amp-plus-cabinet models
Sixteen faithfully modeled classics join six ZOOM originals developed from analysis of real-world legends. Combined with Multi-Layer IR cabinet models, they deliver an organic amp sound that tracks the player's picking.
79 effects and 250 preset patches
79 effects span spring reverb, distortion, modulation, and wah, including models of famous boutique pedals, with up to six effects plus one pedal effect in any order. 250 preset patches recreate landmark guitar sounds from the 1950s to today, and 300 patch memories are available.
Output optimization and controls
A startup screen selects AMP or LINE to optimize the output for a guitar amp or a full-range destination. Cursor-style footswitches allow control while playing, four rotary encoders quickly adjust overall tone and level, and the interface aims for manual-free use with graphical icons that evoke the modeled originals.
Looper, rhythms, and USB
An 80-second looper pairs with 68 rhythm patterns for synced playback. Over USB the unit works as an audio interface for direct DAW recording, and the Handy Guitar Lab app downloads additional effects and edits patches.
