A slicer is an effect that chops the sound in time with the beat to create rhythmic patterns. The SL-2 carries on the lineage of the 2008 twin-pedal SL-20, delivering powerful slice patterns in a compact pedal enclosure. Pattern variations can be expanded with the dedicated BOSS TONE STUDIO app, and stereo input and output make it a fit not only for guitarists but also for DJs, keyboardists, and loop performers.

Condenses the beat-synced slicer concept of the twin-pedal SL-20 into a single compact pedal. A redesigned stereo slicer engine generates complex patterns that combine effects and slicing.
8 types x 11 variations
The slice patterns total 88, spanning 8 types with 11 variations each: SINGLE with a single slice, DUAL with two parallel slices, tremolo-style TREMOLO, pitch-shifting HARMONIC, and effect-layered SFX. Patterns can also be swapped in from the library in the dedicated BOSS TONE STUDIO app.
Texture shaping with ATTACK and DUTY
The ATTACK knob adjusts the onset of each slice and the DUTY knob its length, covering everything from hard-edged percussive chopping to gentle tremolo-like waves. The BALANCE knob sets the mix against the dry sound, and the output can be raised by up to +12dB for effect-forward use. Holding the footswitch engages tap tempo to sync with the performance.
Three-dimensional output modes
Seven output modes are available in stereo operation. Beyond separate effect and dry outputs and panning that moves randomly or alternately, tricky sound fields can be created with 3D CROSS, where the sound moves front to back and side to side, and the rotating 3D ROTATION. Expression pedal and footswitch expansion, MIDI clock sync, and CC reception are also supported.
