An AIAB pedal that began with the idea of building the tones of blackface-era Twins, Supers, and Deluxes into a pedal. It handles everything from clean tones with piercing treble, a stable bottom end, and restrained mids to aggressive full-gain distortion in one unit.
RHYTHM and LEAD, two modes
The side switch works like the channel selector on the real amp. RHYTHM mode covers clean to low-gain drive with a gain range up to about +18dB, intended for always-on preamp use or placement after ambient effects to add American character. LEAD mode reaches about +40dB, covering everything from the point where tubes gradually saturate and begin to break up to sharp full-gain distortion.
Controls modeled on the real amp
VOLUME raises loudness while adding drive and harmonics like a preamp, and MASTER raises overall loudness while thickening the drive in the low mids like a power amp. Building tones from the combination of the two, rather than assigning separate roles, recreates the behavior unique to all-tube amps. TREBLE boosts or cuts above 2kHz, adjusting the overall balance on its own.
Pairing with other pedals
Responsive to guitar-volume moves and fingertip dynamics, it can be combined with the PERSIAN GREEN SCREAMER for Texas-blues tones, or used as a dirty booster pushing other overdrives.
