A distortion that expands the Dyna Red Dist. custom version with an added DRIVE
The BJFE Dyna Red Dist., the mid-gain distortion BJF released in 2001, had a custom version called the Rebel Red Distortion voiced for bright amps and bridge single-coils. This model adds a new DRIVE knob to that sound, adapting it to a wide range of amps and guitars.
DRIVE working as an overdrive in front
The DRIVE knob is operated like an overdrive placed before the distortion stage. Combined with DIST., it covers edgy backing, heavy riffs, and smooth lead tones; at minimum, it delivers the dark, commanding sound of the original Rebel Red Distortion.
Adaptability across pickups
With high-output pickups such as humbuckers, the low-to-mid-weighted voicing suits lead tones, muted riffing, and heavy tones on extended-range guitars. With single-coils, it builds a powerful, standard rock sound reminiscent of humbuckers.
High volume and hands-on control
Like the Dyna Red Dist., it comes into its own especially at high volume. Gain can also be freely controlled from the guitar's volume control.
