An amp-in-a-box recreating the sound of the orange-colored British amps typified by the OD120 and Graphic 120, heavily used in Sweden in the late 1970s. It aims to deliver that era's harmonically overflowing distortion in a mini-sized pedal.
Two-stage controls laid out like an amp
Sound is shaped by combining VOLUME, corresponding to preamp gain, with MASTER, corresponding to a power amp's master volume. MASTER changes not only overall level but also a power-amp-like sense of saturation, so gain can be dialed in much the way it is on the real amp.
From dirty booster to distortion
Lightly driven, it gives a dirty boost that sits well in a band; raising the gain brings an overdrive with a jangly bite, and near maximum it turns into a distortion with a fat low end and warm midrange. One unit covers drive reaching hard rock, classic metal, and stoner rock.
Gain control completed from the guitar's volume knob
With wide response and dynamic range, setting the pedal to the heaviest drive in a song lets the guitar's volume knob alone sweep smoothly between clean and maximum drive. With the gain set near zero, it also yields a clean tone with a sizzling texture reminiscent of tubes on the verge of saturation.
