An octave pedal that combines the traditional octave sound with new tracking technology. VINTAGE mode recreates the sound of the OC-2, the monophonic classic released in 1982, while POLY mode supports stable chord playing across a wide range. A +1 octave voice has been added, covering a total range of three octaves.
An octave pedal layering new-generation tracking onto the OC-2 lineage
It combines BOSS's traditional octave sound with newly developed tracking technology for accurate, latency-free response. One pedal covers everything from a recreation of the classic monophonic OC-2 to polyphonic operation for chords.
VINTAGE mode recreating the OC-2
It reproduces the warm, present monophonic sound of the 1982 OC-2 with the natural response of the new tracking. The -1 and -2 octave voices have individual LEVEL knobs, and DIRECT LEVEL balances them against the direct sound.
POLY mode with selectable range
In POLY mode, which supports chord playing, the RANGE knob specifies the frequency range the effect applies to. Set to LOWEST, it adds a -1 octave voice only to the lowest note of a chord, creating the effect of a layered bass line.
+1 octave and flexible I/O
Both modes can add a +1 octave voice, useful for 12-string-style shimmer or thickening unisons. The GUITAR/BASS switch optimizes the tracking engine for the instrument, and the DIRECT OUT jack outputs the direct sound separately.
