A noise suppressor built on BOSS's proprietary MDP digital signal processing technology. Multidimensional, high-speed signal processing suppresses noise without sacrificing elements of the original sound such as attack and sustain, or the playing feel. It offers a REDUCTION mode for natural noise removal and a GATE mode with fast gating action, handling techniques such as high-gain riffing, tapping, and sweep picking.
A noise suppressor that preserves playing feel through fast MDP processing
MDP technology analyzes the input signal's level, attack, and decay over time from multiple dimensions, suppressing noise without degrading the original sound's attack or sustain. It is a model that confronts the classic noise-suppressor problem of unnatural artifacts from the gate opening and closing.
Three operating modes
REDUCTION is an all-purpose mode that removes noise naturally while preserving playing feel with any technique. GATE opens and closes the gate at ultra-high speed, suiting heavily distorted riffs, slapping, tapping, and other playing that demands crisp articulation. MUTE blocks all signal while engaged, and the reduction of the other modes stays active when it is bypassed.
Fine-tuning with three knobs and an indicator
THRESHOLD sets the level where reduction begins, DECAY the decay time, and DAMP the amount of reduction. The reduction indicator displays the level of noise being removed in real time, so settings can be dialed in with visual confirmation.
Drive-pedal loop and broad compatibility
Noisy drive pedals can be placed in the SEND/RETURN loop while the clean signal at the INPUT stage is analyzed to track your playing, enabling natural suppression. It works with both guitar and bass, including 7- and 8-string guitars, 5-string basses, and keyboards. The DC OUT can also power other pedals.
