MT-2
A BOSS high-gain distortion pedal known as the Metal Zone. One of the most iconic compact pedals with over a million units sold, its deep, midrange-focused distortion has been a staple of metal sounds for decades.
A high-gain distortion still in use after more than one million units sold
Released in 1991, the Metal Zone is a landmark high-gain distortion with cumulative sales of more than one million units. Its singing sustain and thick, tight distortion have carried everything from heavy rhythm work to commanding leads.
Dual-stage gain circuit
Two gain circuits arranged in series create the distortion's weight and the MT-2's distinctive character. Seven filters built into the first-stage distortion circuit produce a tight, focused distortion with a strong midrange personality.
Semi-parametric 3-band EQ
LOW, MIDDLE, and HIGH can each be boosted or cut by up to 15dB, and the MIDDLE band's target frequency can be set anywhere from 200Hz to 5kHz. Placed after the distortion circuit, the EQ handles everything from fine adjustments to your rig to dramatic changes in character.
Distortion independent of volume
Even at low volume it delivers tight, fine-grained distortion and smooth sustain, retaining its character regardless of the connected amp.
