The chainsaw tone revived in a modern Waza Craft HM-2
The HM-2 Heavy Metal, produced from 1983 to 1991, was redesigned as part of the Waza Craft series in answer to calls for its return. Its aggressive, midrange-focused sound carries the lineage that formed the core of Swedish death metal.
A standard mode faithful to the original
It reproduces the tone and response of the original HM-2, delivering the chainsaw tone with every knob maxed. Floor noise is reduced while the maximum LEVEL is extended by 3dB, and a buffer preserves the guitar sound when bypassed.
A more aggressive custom mode
While keeping the standard mode's character, tuned gain circuitry produces stronger distortion and a sharper attack. The low and upper-midrange characteristics are also readjusted, resulting in a sound that combines density and clarity.
Looks that carry on the original
Beyond the iconic color scheme, the size and placement of the panel lettering also reproduce the original. The mode switch sits on the upper edge rather than the top panel, a placement that keeps the design's presence intact.
