BOSS
CP-1X
A multiband compressor pedal for guitar. It brings studio-quality processing to a compact pedal, with MDP technology responding to the register and dynamics of each phrase. Because compression is applied while preserving the guitar's character and playing nuance, dynamics can be evened out without sacrificing expressiveness.
Multiband compressor that responds to your playing to optimize compression
A model that puts studio-quality multiband compression into a compact pedal. BOSS's proprietary MDP analyzes the register and dynamics of each phrase, compressing only what needs it while preserving the instrument's characteristics and playing nuance.
Multi-dimensional processing through MDP
MDP instantly analyzes elements of the input sound such as frequency response, harmonic structure, dynamics, and playing technique, processing them in real time as they change. It avoids the loss of expression from excessive tonal change that plagued conventional compressors, while also supporting aggressive settings aimed at changing the tone.
Simple four-knob operation
The controls are limited to four knobs, but many internal parameters work in concert behind them. The famously tricky compressor is tuned so that simple settings yield optimal results, and a gain reduction indicator provides visual feedback on how hard it is working.
Ready for a wide range of instruments
The input runs on an internally boosted 18V design that secures generous headroom. Because it controls high-end dynamics while keeping the low-end core intact, it suits the heavy phrases of 7- and 8-string guitars as well as the delicate fingerpicking of electric-acoustic guitars.
