CE-5
A compact pedal carrying on the traditional BOSS chorus sound. Alongside wide-range RATE, DEPTH, and E.LEVEL knobs, it has HIGH and LOW filters, letting you craft anything from sharp chorus to warm, gentle modulation. It supports stereo output, and using the two output jacks yields a deep, dimensional stereo chorus that blends direct and effect sounds acoustically in the room.
Compact pedal that shapes the texture of its chorus with two filters
Developed to carry on the clean, uncluttered sound of the BOSS CE-1, the world's first chorus pedal released in 1976. Beyond the basic modulation, it can adjust the tonal balance, covering a wide range of chorus expression in a single unit.
Three basic knobs for the modulation
DEPTH and RATE set the depth and speed of the pitch modulation, while E.LEVEL adjusts the effect volume. It handles everything from natural shimmer suited to cutting rhythm work to deep chorus that gives arpeggios presence.
Independent HIGH/LOW filters
The HIGH and LOW filters control the frequency bands independently. Raising HIGH and lowering LOW produces a sharp, cutting sound free of low-end muddiness; the reverse yields a mild, fat chorus.
Stereo output blended in the air
Like the Roland JC-120 Jazz Chorus, the stereo output jacks send the direct and effect sounds from separate amps so they combine acoustically in the room. Connected to two amps, it creates an enveloping, three-dimensional stereo image.
