A fully analog compact pedal that brings the preamp sounds of the BOSS CE-1 Chorus Ensemble and Roland RE-201 Space Echo together in one unit, with three booster/preamp modes. The BOSS CE-1 Chorus Ensemble and Roland RE-201 Space Echo have been valued for the sound of their built-in preamps as much as for their effects. The BP-1W packs the preamp sounds of both units into a single fully analog Waza Craft circuit.
The preamps of classic units as the subject
The CE-1 and RE-201 carried preamps to accept a wide variety of inputs, and the frequency-response shifts unavoidable with the technology of the era, along with the tube-amp-like saturation when driven hard, became established as qualities that bring out the appeal of a guitar's sound. More than 30 years after production ended, some guitarists still build their sound around these preamps.
Three modes with distinct characters
The CE mode delivers a bright, bell-like tone, while the RE mode is warm and fat, adding saturation as the GAIN is raised. The NATURAL mode works as a flat, uncolored boost that lets the character of your amp or other drives come through. Combining LEVEL and GAIN covers everything from always-on tone shaping to volume lifts for solos.
Two selectable buffers
A rear switch selects between STANDARD and VINTAGE input buffers. VINTAGE lowers the input impedance for a smoother volume curve and a warmer tone. When the effect is off, the STANDARD buffer is always applied.
