MDP compression that keeps the fundamental intact
With conventional compressors, the harmonics often dragged the fundamental into compression, sacrificing the core and attack of the sound. In the BC-1X, BOSS's proprietary MDP technology compresses only the appropriate parts of the sound in response to playing nuance, so the character of the bass and the expression of your technique remain in every register.
Controls condensed into four knobs
Internal compressor parameters that are usually difficult to set are linked together, putting studio-class multiband processing under the control of just four knobs. It covers everything from natural compression that preserves nuance to aggressive sounds that change the mood.
Headroom from internal 18V boost
The internal voltage is boosted to 18V to secure ample input headroom, accepting basses with active pickups without clipping. A gain reduction indicator shows how hard the compression is working, and the noise that often plagues compressor pedals is kept low.
