OLIVERA
$259Reference price
OLIVERA is a delay pedal that recreates the oil can echo. It targets the sweet, vintage-tinged character unique to the oil can echoes used in the early days of audio effects, reproducing that sound in a compact pedal.
The first pedal recreation of the vintage oil can echo
The oil can echo, developed by Tel-Ray in 1959, was an electromechanical echo that used a rotating can filled with conductive oil as its recording medium. Olivera is the first pedal emulation to capture its mechanical, wild character, running on a newly developed algorithm.
The uneven echo unique to oil cans
Because oil can echoes have no erase head, charge remains on the can and repeats occur even without feedback. The first echo and subsequent echoes arrive with different timing, creating an uneven rhythm whose wobble produces a dark, murky atmosphere. Olivera reproduces this behavior as well.
Dark repeats and thick modulation
It covers band-limited, murky repeats, sustaining textures approaching a spring reverb tank, and thick modulation that morphs along with the sound.
A stereo echo with modern features
Discrete stereo operation processes left and right inputs independently, with three switchable routings: mono/mono, mono/stereo, and stereo/stereo. It also offers delay spillover, where repeats persist after the pedal is switched off, and seamless tap tempo.
