FLINT(Gen1)
The original FLINT, combining tremolo and reverb in one unit. Eight controls finely adjust the character of both effects, creating everything from pulsing throb to ambient resonance. Each section has its own true-bypass switch, and the inputs and outputs use high-quality analog circuitry.
The original FLINT, housing the bewitching 60s amp pairing
The original model, recreating at studio quality with the computing power of a SHARC DSP the tremolo-and-reverb pairing first built into 1960s amps. The complex sonic characteristics and tonal interactions of the classic circuits are algorithmically captured in detail.
Three tremolos
'61 harm is a harmonic tremolo that alternately emphasizes lows and highs, producing a smooth, phaser-like pulse. '63 tube sways power tube bias with an LFO, characterized by a dirty sound including crossover distortion. '65 photo recreates the hard, square-wave-like throb of an LDR and a small bulb.
Three reverbs
'60s is a two-spring tank with tube input and output, '70s is one of the earliest digital plates with multiple delay lines arranged in parallel, and '80s recreates the hall sound of rack reverbs. Maxing Decay in '80s yields a hall reverb with synth-like, long sustain.
Independent switches and secondary functions
Tremolo and reverb switch on and off with independent footswitches. Secondary functions provide a boost or cut of plus or minus 3dB per section and swap the connection order of tremolo and reverb.
- Three tremolos: '61, '63, and '65
- Three reverbs: '60s, '70s, and '80s
- Independent footswitches for tremolo and reverb
- Secondary function to swap the connection order
- Analog mix circuit that bypasses AD conversion
- EXP input supporting the TAP FAVORITE switch
