Neither a simulation of historic reverbs nor a quirky effect derived from them, this reverb was developed by BJF with the ambience players actually want as its goal. A custom program is loaded onto a 24-bit digital chip, and the dry signal passes through an analog dry-through path with no digital conversion.

Random modulation matched to string vibration

The decay time of the reverb signal is randomly modulated, creating an effect where the sound diffuses spatially even in mono. This modulation is programmed to approximate the string-vibration characteristics of guitar and bass, producing a natural, three-dimensional ambience unlike conventional algorithms that sound like layered recordings of reflections.

Wide dynamic range and Decay

With roughly five times the dynamic range of a typical spring reverb, it creates an open spatial character. Decay can be set from 2ms to 2s and is designed not merely to change the length of the tail but to let the reverb fade seamlessly with the instrument's tone, making it easy to dial in settings that stay out of the rhythm's way.

Short early reflections and Kill Dry

Early reflections are short, so the ambience spreads three-dimensionally right after a note is played without standing out unnaturally. The Kill Dry switch mutes the dry signal, supporting use in the parallel effects loops of amps and mixers as well as slow-volume-style playing.
