Maxon
AD9Pro Analog Delay
$299Reference price
A pure analog delay carrying four Maxon MC4107D BBD ICs. It secures up to 450ms of delay time, surpassing the AD9's 300ms, and compander noise reduction built from an RMS level sensor and VCA keeps the analog delay sound transparent. It also features a dual-head mode that simulates a multi-head tape echo.
A pure analog delay with compander NR and a dual-head mode
An upper model that redesigns the AD9's noise handling and frequency balance. It raises practical performance while preserving analog warmth.
Compander noise reduction
Compander signal processing built from an RMS level sensor and an exponentially controlled VCA reduces aliasing and clock noise for a transparent delay. According to Maxon's own research it was a world first for a pedal analog delay as of March 2007.
Improvements over the AD9
Dynamic range improves by 18dB and maximum input level by 12dB. Enhanced low-end response yields solid bass, and the rebalanced lows and highs keep the delay warm yet clear.
Dual-head mode
A simulation of a multi-head tape echo is built in, switchable between single- and dual-head modes. Dual-head mode adds a midstream signal tapped partway along the BBD delay line, extending to ambience-style effects.
