KarDiaN
Vitamin C Super Lucky 7
KarDiaN's seventh-anniversary model, referencing a V6-era unit from the Big Muff lineage that follows Ram's Head and Op-Amp. The reference was a 1981 third-generation Big Muff finished in red and blue. The V6 era sits at the transition back from op-amp to transistor amplification, characterised by the weight and harmonic content of the 2N5088 and by a dark texture that emerges as the waveform is crushed. Four types of vintage WIMA and ERO coupling capacitors are used. Limited to 500 units worldwide.
A seventh-anniversary model referencing the V6-era Big Muff
A seventh-anniversary model built around the V6 era within the Ram's Head, Op-Amp, V6 and Russian lineage of the Big Muff. The reference was a 1981 third-generation unit in an unusual red and blue finish.
The V6 as a transitional era
The V6 era marks the return from op-amp amplification back to transistors, and is sometimes called a second coming of the Ram's Head. It is harmonically rich with a top end that pushes forward, and the 2N5088 devices build a wall of distortion with real weight behind it. As those harmonics and that weight crush the waveform, a dark texture emerges.
Four vintage capacitors
The four coloured box capacitors are the most visible feature of the board, drawn from vintage WIMA and ERO stock. Each acts as a coupling capacitor on the signal line, together producing the harmonic richness and darkness of the pedal.
A neon finish
The base colours are a leaden silver and a black suggesting iron oxide. The red and blue are laid on by brush, with gold as an accent. Each unit carries a serial number.
