SDE-3000EVH
$599Reference price
A dual digital delay co-developed by EVH and BOSS to reproduce the powerful wet/dry/wet stereo delay sound Eddie Van Halen built with three cabinets. The floor enclosure houses two of the classic Roland SDE-3000 rack units and provides the extensive I/O needed to assemble a similar setup. It also includes eight EVH presets created by Eddie himself, referencing his own units.
A special edition packing Eddie Van Halen's stereo delay rig into one unit
Eddie Van Halen kept two Roland SDE-3000s at the core of his stage rig, in a wet/dry/wet setup with three cabinets. The SDE-3000EVH is a dual digital delay co-developed by EVH and BOSS to reproduce that approach.
Verification at the 5150 studio
During development, numerous prototypes were sent to the 5150 recording studio, where they were compared repeatedly in an environment recreating his settings. It includes eight EVH presets Eddie created referencing the SDE-3000s he actually used, recalling those sounds with everything but the output level fixed.
Wet/dry/wet-ready I/O
The I/O supports the same three-cabinet setup he used, and also handles common mono and stereo connections. Three ground-lift cables are included to avoid hum noise when connecting multiple amps.
SDE-3000 features and expansion
Housing two stereo-capable SDE-3000s, it offers up to 3,000ms of delay time via the X2 switch, modulation with phase inversion, and low/high-cut filters. The SEND/RETURN jacks accommodate external pedals and the four-cable method, rounded out by a built-in noise suppressor, 92 memories, MIDI, and foot controller expansion.
